Blanche Rosetta West

Blanche Rosetta West of Cuba, Missouri was born Tuesday, April 16, 1935 at home in Rogersville, Missouri to the union of Avery and Vernia (nee: Morgan) Barton and left from this life on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 77 years. Blanche was united in marriage to Marion G. West on December 27, 1954 at St. Louis, Missouri and they were happily married 45 years when Marion passed away on January 25, 2000. They were the proud parents of five children; Cherry, Cindy, Betty, Janey and Scotty. Blanche spent her life taking care of her family and home. She had babysat nearly her whole life, starting with being the oldest child of thirteen, she helped with all of her little brothers and sisters, then she raised her own family and grandchildren and for the last many years she has babysat for friends. She always considered all of the children she babysat as her grandchildren and they are considered her as grandma. Blanche walked and exercised every day. She could still jump rope and do twenty five pushups. She read her bible and prayed every day that the Lord would watch over her family. Blanche was a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents Avery and Vernia Barton, husband Marion West, one grandson Christian West, seven brothers and sisters and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children Cherry West of Cuba, Cindy and husband Mike Medlock of Cuba, Betty and husband Doug Brock of Kansas City, Missouri, Janey and husband Ernest Crider of Cuba and Scott and wife Kayla West of Cuba, twenty grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one more on the way, four brothers, one sister, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Graveside service will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Kinder Cemetery. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the West family.
