Billie Gene Chandler

Billie Gene Chandler of Cuba, Missouri was born on March 25, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Benjamin H. and Gertrude P. (Evans) Chandler. He left from this life on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri at the age of 88 years. Billie was united in marriage to Neoma Jane Cutter on August 1, 1953 in Lock Port, New York and to this union five children were born Michael, Lindy, Bonnie, Becky and Vicky. Billie retired from McDonnell Douglas as an Inspector, after many years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He regularly attended the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church and on most days he could be found at the Cuba Senior Center volunteering. Billie is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin H. and Gertrude P. (Evans) Chandler; wife Neoma J. Chandler; three daughters Bonnie Schnell, Becky Chandler and Vicky Chandler; two brothers. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his two children Mike Chandler of Cuba, Missouri , Lindy and husband Perry Myers of Bourbon, Missouri; four grandchildren Amanda and husband Dustin Corbett, Erin and husband Joe Setzer, Nikki and husband Ryan Scott, Jesse Chandler; seven great-grandchildren Nicole, Shelby, Braxton, Audrey,Jacob, Silas and Kayla; one brother Jack Chandler of Illinois; nieces, nephews and many friends. In keeping with his wishes, Billie will be cremated. A private family service will be held at a later date. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Chandler family.
