Beverly F. Beneke of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, June 23, 1945 at Belleville, Illinois to the union of Albert and Gladys (nee: Wells) Toenyes and left from this life on Friday, October 7, 2016 at her home in Cuba at the age of 71 years. Beverly worked for many years as a waitress, for a country club, in Illinois and she retired for the Roxana School District, Roxana, Illinois as a cafeteria worker. She loved to play bingo, watch movies and go camping. Beverly and George enjoyed traveling after retirement and in 2010 they went up the east coast to Myrtle Beach, Pigeon Ford, New York and Maine before returning home. Beverly was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7147 Ladies Auxiliary and attended the First Baptist Church of Cuba for the last six years. What Beverly enjoyed most in life was spending time with her family and friends. Beverly was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Gladys Toenyes, seven brothers and sisters and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving husband of thirty eight years George Beneke of the home, three sons Gary and wife Roben Griggs of Steelville, Missouri, Larry and wife Shelly Griggs of Moro, Illinois and George Beneke, II and friend Amanda Czaia of East Alton, Illinois, one daughter Mitzi and husband Jeffrey Snyder of Jefferson City, Missouri, eleven grandchildren; Nathan and wife Sarah Griggs of Arnold, Missouri, Lauren and husband Rodney Brand of Steelville, Missouri, Preston Griggs of Steelville, Missouri, Shelby Griggs of Moro, Illinois, Lauren Griggs of Moro, Illinois, Corey Beneke of East Alton, Illinois, Courtney Beneke of East Alton, Illinois, George Beneke III of East Alton, Illinois, Blake Snyder of Lynn, Missouri, Bailey Burnett of Jefferson City, Missouri and Ethan Snyder of Jefferson City, Missouri, two great grandchildren Harper Sadie Griggs of Arnold, Missouri and Braelyn Jean Brand of Steelville, Missouri, two brothers Joseph and wife Shirley Toenyes of Alhambra, Illinois and George and wife Irene Toenyes of Gallatin, Tennessee, one sister Ruby Enlow of Alton, Illinois, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 4:00 till 7:00 pm at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri and Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 4:00 till 7:00 pm at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home, 2521 Edwards Street, Alton, Illinois. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home, Alton, Illinois with Rev. Randy Dalmar, officiating. Interment and prayers will follow at the Upper Alton Cemetery, Alton, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cuba Senior Center 206 N.Smith St. Cuba, MO 65453 in Beverly's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Beverly's family.
