Betty C. Bridgeman, a beloved resident of Parsons, Kansas, was born on May 5, 1943, in Bethany, Missouri. She peacefully departed this life on January 22, 2025, at Elm Haven East in Parsons, Kansas, at the age of 81.
Betty dedicated several years to working at the Shoe Factory in Cuba and Bourbon. She found joy in simple pleasures, including playing bingo, cards, and Yahtzee. Betty cherished her trips to Missouri to visit family and relished the beauty of autumn as she took leisurely rides to admire the fall colors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Marie (Littrell) Morris; her husband, Carl W.D. Bridgeman; and her children, Pam Palmer and Delbert Bridgeman. Betty also mourned the loss of her sister, Marrion Bridgeman, and brother, Bob Morris, along with brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law including Willard Dulaney, Lola Mae (Ernie) Holland, Richard Bridgeman, Lawrence Bridgeman, Rodger Bridgeman, Sr., Glenda Bridgeman, Johnny (Teri) Bridgeman, and Wayne Bridgeman.
Left to honor her memory are her three children: Bill Morris of Altamont, KS, Sherry (Howard) Hester of Cherryville, MO, and Lester Ray Bridgeman of Parsons, KS. Betty is also survived by her siblings: Frances Dulaney of Cuba, MO, Ed (Penny) Copling of Lebanon, MO, Margie (Tom) Dean of Chetopa, KS, Rebecca Copling of Steelville and Ray (Cheryl) Copling of Bourbon, MO. Additionally, she leaves behind cherished sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, including Norma Bridgeman of Cuba, MO, Orville (Lois) Bridgeman of Newbury Park, CA, Haskell (Linda) Bridgeman, Stella (Wilbert) Buchka, Larry (Wanda) Bridgeman, Clifford (Delphia) Bridgeman, Brenda Bridgeman, Lester Bridgeman, Beverly (Jay) Hanes, and Sharon (Dallas) Britton, all of Cuba, MO. Betty will also be remembered by her eighteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
A visitation will take place on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Clifford Bridgeman. Interment will be held at Lick Creek Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri.
