Bertha Mae Allen

Bertha Mae Allen, 99, of Cuba, MO passed away at home on Friday, April 21, 2006. She was born February 23, 1907 in Coldwater, MO. She married to Nevil Vaughn who preceded her in death in 1950, and she later married Alfred Allen. Bertha and Alfred Allen moved to Cuba, MO in 1954 and were long time residents of Cuba. Alfred preceded her in death in 1981. She is survived by 3 daughters; Paulette Gamblin of Seymour, MO, Dortha Strawn of Valley Park, MO and Joan Pennick of Cuba, MO, one son; Nevil Vaughn Jr. and wife Helen of Ocala, FL, 23 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Greg and Scott Vaughn, three sisters Annie Lindhorst, Flo Widemeier and Billie Jo Wilcox, three brothers Vernon, Bumon and Bond Ray and one son-in-law Bud Strawn. She will be remembered for her love of her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and many other family members and friends. Bertha was a member of First Baptist Church of Cuba. Visitation was held Monday, April 24th from 5 to 8 PM at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba. Funeral service was held at 11AM Tuesday, April 25th at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba with Pastor Bob Knight officiating. Serving as pall bears were grandsons and great grandsons. Family is being served by Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, MO.
