Bernice 'Honey' Brand

Bernice "Honey" Brand of Cuba, Missouri was born on June 14, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Frank and Mina (Giles) Luster and left from this life on Monday, December 26, 2016 at her home at the age of 81. Bernice was united in marriage to Elmer L. Brand on June 25, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri. She retired after many years of dedicated service from Bi-State Transit in St. Louis. She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments and Tonka Trucks. In the summer months she loved to cut grass and garden. Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; husband Elmer L. Brand; three brothers Harold, Bob and Charlie Luster; three sisters Margaret Simmons, Irene Payne and Jeanette Hawes. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her two children Robert L. Brand of Cuba, Missouri and Judy Brand of St. Louis, Missouri; sister-in-law Christine and husband Carl Besemer of Cuba, Missouri; brother-in-law Lawrence Brand of Atlanta, Georgia; devoted friends Lonnie and wife Donna Dickens of Cuba, Missouri; nieces, nephews and many friends. Graveside service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 2:00 p.m. at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri, with Pastor Don Martin, officaiting. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Brand family.
