Barbara J. Roach

Barbara J. Roach of Bourbon, Missouri was born on April 14, 1944 in Tupelo, Mississippi. She left from this life on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 73 years. Barbara worked as a CNA at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James for several years. She also owned and operated Barbara's Pet Grooming & Boarding in Bourbon. She enjoyed caring for lots of fur babies over the years. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Hubert Whitman and Dessie (Lewis) Bowenschulte; three brothers James Daniel Whitman, Arthur Lewis Whitman, Lonnie Whitman; one sister Dora Carol Whitman. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are one daughter Joyce Hunter of St. Peters, Missouri; two grandchildren Tereva Corley of St. Peters, Missouri, Eric Strosnider of O' Fallon, Missouri; one sister Karen Baxter-Baumann of Doral, Florida; one brother Ellis Whitman; two nieces, Judy Mehas of Bourbon, Missouri, Teresa Switzer of Cuba, Missouri and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. In keeping with her wishes, Barbara will be cremated. No services are planned at this time. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Barbara's family.
