Ava C. Hamilton

Ava C. Hamilton of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Robert Cleveland and Eula Edith (Eaton) Cassidy on October 10, 1921 in Steelville, Missouri and she left from this life on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 4 days. Ava was united in marriage to Jack L. Hamilton on April 13, 1940 in Cuba, Missouri. Together they shared 53 years of marriage. Ava retired from Peoples Bank of Cuba as an Assistant Cashier. She later worked at McDonalds Restaurant and was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Phelps County Regional Medical Center Ladies Aux., Cuba Senior Center, American Legion Post No. 522 Ladies Aux. and was a Girl Scout Leader many years. Her hobbies included ceramics and shopping. Ava is preceded in death by her parents Robert Cleveland Cassidy and Eula Edith (Eaton) Cassidy; husband Jack L. Hamilton; one daughter Patricia Jane Hamilton; two brothers Lawrence and Woodrow Cassidy; four sisters Doris Lincks, Mary Jane Gambill, Mildred and Virginia Cassidy; brother-in-law Quentin and wife Fay Hamilton. Those who are left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law Shirley and husband Claude Ritchie of Topeka, Kansas; nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation: Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral: Saturday, November 17, 2007 2:00 p.m. at Britton funeral Home with Rev. Paul Lathum, officiating. Interment: Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
