'Aunt' Selma Nora Brown

April 4, 1918 — June 24, 2012

"Aunt" Selma Nora Brown of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, April 4, 1918 at Maries County, Missouri to the union of Jesse and Soletta (nee: Johnson) Branson and left from this life on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 94 years 2 months and 20 days. Aunt Selma retired in 1988 after years of working in a factory and cooking at school in the Jefferson City area. After retiring she moved to Cuba, to be closer to family.The past few years Selma enjoyed watching TV and reading. She was a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, great-great-great aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Aunt Selma is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Soletta Branson, husband Charlie Brown, three brothers Warren, Glen and Louis Branson, two sisters Louella Groff and Lorene Stone and a host of other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving niece Pat and husband Charlie Medows of Cuba and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, great-great-great nieces, great-great-great nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 10 AM till 12 Noon Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be 12 Noon Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Pat Gruber officiating. Special music will be "Precious Memories" "The Promise" and "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder" by Sloan Medows, Don Britton and Darlene Cape. Honored to be serving as pall bearers are Jason Medows, Jeff Medows, Darrell Patrick, Adam Patrick, John Hewkin, Brian Barrett, Richard Stone, Doug Stone and Carl Holman. Interment and prayers will follow at the Francis Cemetery, Belle, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Aunt Selma's family.
