Arthur Howard "Art" Kamm of Cuba, Missouri was born September 19, 1924 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Howard Arthur and Doris (Nee: Germer) Kamm and left from this life on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at his home on Indian Hills Lake at the age of 90 years. Art proudly served in the United States Navy from February 26, 1943 until February 25, 1949. He earned the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific (1 Star), European Theatre (2 Stars), Americantheatre and the Philippine Liberation. Art completed from the Naval Training School (Diesel) University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri the Class "A" Diesel Instruction on the 21st day of August, 1943. Art married Billie R. Burke on October 29, 1949 and to this union two beautiful daughters were born; Debra and Vickie. After twenty nine years of dedicated service Art retired in 1978 as a general foreman from General Motors plant in St. Louis. Art enjoyed playing pinochle and golf. He spent hours bird watching, playing card games and teaching his grandchildren to play chess. Art was "The Best Dad in the World" and his daughters didn't want for anything. He spent hours driving the boat while they water skied, playing ping pong and shooting pool with them. Every winter for years after retirement Art and Billie would go to Florida for three months. What Art loved the most was spending time with his family and friends. Art was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend of many. Art is preceded in death by his wife Billie Kamm, one brother Howard Kamm, sisters Patsy Sasaro and Dorothy Kamm and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving daughters Debra "Debbie" and husband Bud Brummet of Cuba and Vickie and husband Gary Beach of St. Peters, Missouri, three amazing grandchildren Michael and wife Stacey Brummet, Michele and husband Kirk Davis all of Cuba and Jesse Beach of St. Peters, Missouri, four beautiful great grandchildren Garrett and Taylor Davis, Jordan and Maddison Brummet, sister-in-law Dawn Kamm of Greenville, Illinois, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 5:00 till 8:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Stories and prayer will conclude the visitation at 8:00 PM. A private family graveside will be held at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, with full military honors. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Kamm family.
