Andrew J. Sanazaro, Sr.

Andrew "Andy" J. Sanarazo, Sr. of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, July 31, 1926 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Julius Sanazaro and Esterina (nee: Rivolta) Sanazara and left from this life on Monday, January 21, 2008 at the age of 81 years 5 months and 21 days. Andy was united in marriage to Betty Riley in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union five children were born; Christy, Andy Jr., Nick, Carolyn and Dan. Andy served his country during WW II as a Private First Class in the United States Army Air Force from 1944 until 1947. Andy was the founder and President of Meramec Electrical Products, which started in 1968. He dedicated many hours to his business to ensure its success, not only for his family but for his employees. Andy was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for over 50 years. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, was on the Emergency Planning Commission (when it first started in Cuba), Past President of the former Cuba Optimist Club, member of the Athletic Association & was a Boy Scout Leader for the Cuba area. Andy enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator. This gave him the opportunity to talk to people all over the world and to even help people in their time of need. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and even a game of poker, but what was always most important to him was his family. Andy was a very kind hearted and generous man. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, loan a dollar or two, help build or rebuild a piece of machinery or help solve electrical problems but never did he ask or expect to be repaid. What he did and gave, was always from the heart. Andy was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle, great great uncle, cousin and friend to everyone. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Andy is preceded in death by his parents; Julius and Esterina Sanazaro and other family and friends. Those who are left to mourn his passing but to celebrate and treasure a life lived is his wife Betty Sanazaro, five children; Christy Moreland, Andy Sanazaro, Jr., Nick and wife Cate Sanazaro, Carolyn Sanazaro and Dan and wife Carolyn Sue Sanazaro all of Cuba, Missouri, one sister Virginia M. Petralia of St. Louis, Missouri, seventeen grandchildren; Jennie, John and Joe (Jennifer) Moreland, Jessie Sumpter, Andy III, Amy, Erica and Leslie Sanazaro, Shannon (Lee) Emery, Courtney (Andy Sloey - fiancee') Sanazaro, Ande, Carrie and Chris Macier, Charlynn and Linnea Ising, Lane and Lacey Sanazaro, eight great grandchildren; Wyatt Whittaker, Lexie Moreland, Julius and Jarrod Bright, Bobby, Ryan and Izac Sumpter and Ian Sanazaro, favorite uncle of Diane Sanazaro, great uncle of Dina and husband Cris Swift and Jason Giamarino and Great great uncle of Haley Swift and a host of other relatives and many many friends. Visitation Wednesday, January 23rd from 3 till 8 PM at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral Mass 11 AM Thursday, January 24th at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father James Finder as celebrant. Serving as pall bears are; Andy Sanazaro III, John Moreland, Joe Moreland, Lane Sanazaro, Jason Giamarino and Chris Macier. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Andrew J. Sanazaro, Sr. Scholarship Fund. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Sanazaro Family.
