Alice Katherine Doyle of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, September 12, 1929 at Jonesboro, Arkansas to the union of Glenn and Vada (nee: Pendleton) Ballard and left from this life on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 79 years 8 months and 20 days. Alice was united in marriage to Sam Doyle on September 16, 1947 at Wynn, Arkansas and to this union two daughters were born Reba Carolyn and Sandra Ann. Alice retired from Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri after 29 éé½ years of dedicated service. Alice and Sam moved to Indian Hills in 1983 and Alice started taking care of others and then she started cleaning houses until she totally retired in 1998. Alice was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba. Alice enjoyed watching her humming birds, reading, house keeping, quilting, but what she enjoyed and loved most in life was her family and spending time with them. Alice was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Alice is preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Vada Ballard, son-in-law Joseph Glenn Kruse, brother Cleadis é¢ééRogeré¢éé Ballard, sister Betty Sue Ballard and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her loving husband of nearly 62 years Sam Doyle of Cuba, two daughters Reba and husband Tom Picard of Suwanee, Georgia and Sandra Ann Kruse of Monroe, North Carolina, one brother Charles Ballard of Cuba, five grandchildren Tommy, Tammy, Kevin, Kimmy and Jeff, four great grandchildren Alexandra, Tyler, Karissa and Katie, sister-in-law to Bobby Lee Doyle of Cabot, Arkansas, Theodore Doyle of Aspen, Illinois and Ola Mae McCamon of Wynn, Arkansas, and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2009 from 5 till 8 PM at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be 10 AM Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Bob Knight officiating. Special music for the service is é¢ééIn the Gardené¢éé and é¢ééAmazing Graceé¢éé. Interment to follow at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Doyle family.
