Alice Juanita Huitt

Alice Juanita Huitt of Festus, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Clarence and Estella (Ellis) McAtee on Tuesday, March 11, 1924 in Potosi, Missouri and left from this life on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri at the age of 85 years 10 months and 13 days. Alice was a homemaker and a long time member of the Delhi Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, avid genealogist and a hardy woman of pioneer spirit whose favorite saying, especially during hardships, was 郢邀邜that郢邀邙s life, moving West郢邀邝. She has rejoined those who went before her and will be watching over those she left behind. Alice is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Estella (Ellis) McAtee; husband William M. Huitt, Sr.; son Michael Huitt; two brothers Frank and Elmer McAtee; two sisters Beulah Miller and Mildred Martindale. Those who are left to cherish her memory and to continue her legacy are her eight children William 郢邀邜Bill郢邀邝 and wife Doris Huitt of Des Peres, Missouri, Dennis and wife Jane Huitt of Panama City, Florida, Randy and wife Nancy Huitt of Jerseyville, Illinois, James and wife Viola Huitt of Cuba, Missouri, Larry and wife Cindy Huitt of Willow Springs, Missouri, Delecia Huitt of Festus, Missouri, Denise and husband Bill Jones of Houston, Missouri, Kathleen "Katy" Mathews of Memphis, Tennessee; step-daughter June Huitt of Chicago, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 11:00 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Scott Perry, officiating. Interment will follow at Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Huitt family.
