Albert J. "Ab" Martin

Albert J. "AB" Martin of Steelville, Missouri was born on May 1, 1932 in Crawford County, Missouri to the union of Robert C. and Frona (Trask) Martin. He left from this life surrounded by his family at his home on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the age of 88 years.

Albert was united in marriage to Lorene Pyatt on February 5, 1955 in Steelville, Missouri. To this union six children were born Rhonda, Jerry, Carl, Roger, Deric and Nathan.

Albert honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a retiree of the St. Louis Carpenters Local and for a few years he owned operated Martin's Saw Shop in Steelville.

Albert and Lorene loved to travel to Arizona and Wyoming. He enjoyed bee keeping, gardening, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

Albert is preceded in death by his parents Robert C. "R.C. Dick" and Frona (Trask) Martin; one son Carl Martin; two sisters Anna Mae White and Roberta White; two brothers Cecil and wife Foye Martin, James Martin.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of sixty-five years Lorene (Pyatt) Martin of the home; five children Rhonda and husband Robert Pyatt of Davisville, Missouri, Jerry and wife Vicki Martin of Steelville, Missouri, Roger Martin and Deric Martin both of Steelville, Missouri, Nathan and wife Angie Martin of Cuba, Missouri; ten grandchildren Jason West, Zack Pyatt, Justin Martin and companion Shawntae, Travis Martin, Brittany and husband Jake King, Savannah Martin, Allison and husband Joey Ridenhour, Tierra and husband Jared Wilkininson, Trevor Martin and Trystan Martin; one brother Henry and wife Bonnie Martin of Davisville, Missouri; one sister Mabel Volner of Steelville, Missouri; one sister-in-law Betty Martin of Steelville, Missouri; one brother-in-law Cecil and wife Mildred Pyatt of Eldon, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 11:00 a.m. at Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville, Missouri with Pastor Mike Mounce, officiating. Special music "Amazing Grace" and "I'll Fly Away" will be sung by Bob and Carol Coleman. Full military honors will conclude the services.
