Aaron G. Rook

Aaron G. Rook of Cuba, Missouri was born October 6, 1929 in Cuba, Missouri to the union of the late William F. and Josephine B. (Shoults) Rook and left from this life on Friday, March 7, 2008 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 1 day. Aaron retired after many years of service from Cuba Marble & Granite and as a Caretaker of Kinder Cemetery. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post #7147, member of American Legion Post, Cuba Volunteer Fire Dept. (1953-1982)and proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army. Aaron was a collector of many things and was best known to help others in their time of need. He enjoyed the outdoors, a good cup of coffee, his pets Jake, Skooter, Sparky & Sammy. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Aaron was preceded in death by his parents William F. Rook and Josephine B. (Shoults) Rook; three brothers Raymond, John and Bill Rook, Jr.; two sisters Gladys Copeland and Mable Krause; one step-grandson John Aaron Hubert. Those who are left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his son Randy and wife Mary Rook of Columbia, Missouri; his companion of twenty-four years Marilyn Harris and her children Donna and husband Tom Lehnhoff of Cuba, Missouri, Larry and wife Valerie Harris of Cuba, Missouri, Sandy Howerter of Havana, Illinois; Bud and wife Ronda Harris of Cuba, Missouri; Ed and wife Mariann Hubert of Rolla, Missouri; two grandchildren Mackenzie and Spenser Rook of Columbia, Missouri; thirteen step-grandchildren, thirteen step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation: Monday, March 10, 2008 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Graveside service: Monday, March 10, 2008 1:30 p.m. at Kinder Cemetery with Rev. Gary Mace, officiating followed by full military honors.
