Obituary

Seta M. Easton of Cuba, Missouri was born on Friday, October 6, 1922 in Fults, Illinois to the union of Henry J. and Louisa (Klamp) Hern. She left from this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 97 years.

Seta was united in marriage to Lee F. Easton on April 3, 1943 in East St. Louis, Illinois and to this union two children were born Beverly and Aaron.

Lee and Seta first owned & operated, in a joint corporation, a dairy farm near Sparta, Illinois. In 1946 they sold the partnership and purchased a farm near Renault, Illinois.

Seta was a stay at home mother and housewife on the family farm. As well, Seta worked side-by-side with her husband operating equipment and caring for livestock. Gardening, canning and butchering provided nearly all the necessary foods. She also was an avid seamstress and provided clothing, rugs, quilts, drapes, etc. for her family and for a time worked for Brown Shoe Company in Chester, Illinois.

In 1973 Lee and Seta sold the family farm and moved to Green River, Wyoming. There (1973-1981) Lee worked the underground mines and Seta worked as a department store manager. In 1981, they retired and moved to Cuba, Missouri, where Seta lived at home until her passing.

As well, Lee and Seta both enjoyed working various church projects and were longtime (70 years) members of the Assembly of God Churches in Illinois, Wyoming and Missouri. Over these times, Seta also served an estimated 30 years as the church secretary.

Seta was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt and a friend to many. She will truly be missed, by all who knew and loved her.

Seta is preceded in death by her parents Henry J. and Louisa (Klamp) Hern; husband Lee F. Easton; one daughter Beverly Breithaupt; one sister Alma Juelfs; two brothers Wilbert Hern and Elmer Hern.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her son Aaron and wife Jackie Easton of Cuba, Missouri; five grandchildren Shelley Jones of St. Clair, Missouri, DeAnna and husband Aaron Stanley of Columbia, Illinois, Aaron Lee Easton, II and wife Kathy of Temple, Texas, David Breithaupt of Fulton, Missouri, Dean and wife Karen Breithaupt of Columbia, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren Jonathan Jones, Megan Wolff, Nicholas Wolff, Trevor Easton, Jarren Easton, Olivia Smith, Camron Breithaupt, Spencer Breithaupt; two sisters Priscilla Bancroft of Maplewood, Missouri, Alice Newland of Waterloo, Illinois; one brother Elliott and wife Linda Hern of Columbia, Illinois; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
