Obituary

Jackie C. Nunn of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, March 27, 1952 at Mangum, Oklahoma to the union of James Ray and C. Mozell (Nee: Calloway) Nunn. He left from this life on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at his home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 68 years.

Jack had served in the United States Armed Forces. After the military, Jack worked in construction and on the oil wells in Texas. He also worked as a police officer in New Mexico and a telephone lineman.

In his younger years, Jack enjoyed fast cars and he could sketch anything he had seen. He was known for his ability to tell stories and was quite the salesman; he could sell a gallon of water while in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

His true love was horses. He spent years riding them, taking care of them and being in and going to rodeos. In 1995 Jack was kicked in the head by a horse and his lead to years of surgeries, strokes and being in a wheelchair. But that didn’t slow him down.

Jack was a son, brother, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, step grandfather, uncle, great uncle and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents James Ray and Mozell Nunn; sister Bonita Honeycutt; brother James C. and wife Linda Nunn and other family and friends.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving sister Ileta Ferrell of Cuba; three children Jacquey Nunn of New Mexico, Michael “Mickey” Nunn of Texas and Christopher “Chris: Nunn of Colorado, grandchildren, great grandchildren; brother-in-law Bill Honeycutt of Oklahoma; wife Linda Nunn of Florida; step children; step grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

In keeping with Jack’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no public services will be held at this time.

The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Jack’s family.

My dearest Jack, when we met at Shibley Court Apts in February 2000, I never would have thought that 20 years later you and I would own each other’s heart 💞...you showed me, what truly loving someone with your whole being, felt like..You not only cared for me but you also had taken my 4 children under your protective wing..especially Jesse and Rachel..
It’s only been 9 days since you fell asleep in death, and our hearts are raw with heartache..
I saved some of your voicemails and want to listen to them just to hear your beautiful voice, but it is so painful to even think about it...I know if I do, my tears will flow like a river and I’m not strong enough yet...Jack, I have and always will hold you tightly in my heart..
Until we meet again my darling....yours forever, Christine
