Obituary

Betty was united in marriage to Cecil D. Stricklin on Friday, February 20, 1953 at Steelville, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born: Linda Darlene and Phyllis.

Betty worked for Convey Shoe and Brown Shoe for many years before she retired. In her younger years she enjoyed sewing and quilting. Betty spent every spring planting a gardening, all summer was spent canning and for the last few years, she would help her sister Helen with her canning.

Betty enjoyed being outside, mowing grass, splitting and stacking wood. She thought you had to burn wood for heat. She loved going to yard sales, auctions and resale shops, because she was a collector of anything and everything. One of her favorite foods was fish, especially the ones that her son-in-law Calvin would catch and then bring her the whole fish.

She treasured getting to watch her grandsons grow up. She went to every sporting event and school program that they were in. Betty was a devout in attending the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church. She was at church every time the doors opened for any special event. What she truly treasured most in life, was spending time with her family, church family and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents John and Hazel Reeves; husband Cecil D. Stricklin; four brothers-in-law Jessie and wife Betty Stricklin, Norman Stricklin, Roman Stricklin and Lawrence and wife Rosie Stricklin and other family and friends.
