Perle Eldon Avery, Jr. “Butch” of Houston, Texas, formerly of Bourbon, was born Thursday, August 1, 1946 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Perle E. and Virginia Mildred (Nee: Harmon) Avery. He left from this life on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Methodist West Houston Hospital, Houston, Texas at the age of 73 years.

Butch, as he was known by, was united in marriage to Carol Faye Wells on April 22, 1967 at Cantwell, Missouri. They were the proud parents of Mark, Tracy and Billie.
Butch worked as a diesel mechanic for forty years. During his career he worked for Brown Shoe in St. Louis, Willette Truck Service in Sullivan, Rolla Equipment and Wonder Bread in St. Clair, Missouri.
Butch bowled for sixty-eight years and his all-time high score was 234. He spent hours doing work and taking care of his garden every spring and summer. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working and auto mechanics. What he truly treasured most in life was spending time with this family and friends.
He was a loving son, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Perle and Virginia Avery; wife Carol Avery, one daughter, Tracy Weber; three sisters, Linda Collier, Fern Bryant and infant Rosemary Avery; three step-sisters, Shirley and husband Tartan Collier, Penny Hogan, Dorma Lee Morrison; step brother, Jr. Hogan and other family and friends.
Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his children, Mark Avery of Bourbon and Billie and husband John Schuler of Houston, Texas; six amazing grandchildren, Nicholas “Nick” and wife Tara Weber of Cuba, Ben Weber of Cuba, Ashley and husband Nick Mesger of Sullivan, Danielle Schuler of Houston, Texas, Kerri Schuler of Houston, Texas and Mikayla Avery of Cuba; great grandchildren, Jadelyn Weber, Hunter Weber, Gunner Weber, Chandler Weber, Christian Weber, Meredith Weber; one sister Claudia Dildine of St. Clair, Missouri; one brother Gene and wife Linda Avery of Leasburg, half-brother, Michael and wife Jeannie Hogan of Little Rock, Arkansas; step-brother Terry and wife Vicky Hogan of Boss, brothers-in-law Jerry Bryant of Steelville, Harry and wife Debbie Wells of South County, Missouri, Betty and husband Charles Speers of Bear, Delaware, Lonnie Morrison of Cuba; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, December 9, 2019 from 2:00 till 4:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2019 with Pastor Alan Miles officiating. Special recorded music will be “Amazing Grace” and “Go Rest High on that Mountain”.
In keeping with Butch’s wishes, he will be cremated following the funeral service and his ashes will be interred on Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba.
