Charles is preceded in death by his parents Noble R. and Margaret E. (Tincher) Buchanan; one daughter Charlene D. Buchanan; one brother Donnie Buchanan; three sisters Peggy Spears, Norma Spears, Charlotte Lykins and other family and friends.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife, Nora Buchanan of the home; two sons, William Lee and wife Jean Marie Buchanan of Leasburg, Missouri, Dean Buchanan and girlfriend Cindy Robertson of St. Clair, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Ashley and husband Matt Garrison, Shayna Buchanan and fiancé Cody James, Trevor and wife Taylor Travis, Emily Buchanan, Jozef Buchanan, Zachary Stockhorst, Charles Ray Buchanan, Quintin Buchanan; six great-grandchildren, Trentin, Tucker, Charli, Stella, Aubree and Chloe; two sisters, Dorothy and husband Dennis Fleming of Pekin, Indiana, Carol Raisor of Salem, Indiana; three sisters-in-law, Karen Leza of Japan, Missouri, Janice Colgate of Sullivan, Missouri, Faye Einfalt of Chino, California; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and many friends.
