Betsy Ann Kelleher of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, September 18, 1930 at Ferguson, Missouri to the union of George Gilbert and Rose Elizabeth (nee: Bushor) Argent. She left from this life on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Cuba Manor at the age of 89 years.

Betsy spent her life taking care of her family and home. She truly could have been a Religion College Professor for she studied all religions her entire life. As a child, she attended church with her family and friends, going to the Catholic Church, Jewish Synagogue, Baptist Church, Methodist Church and many more churches. Throughout Betsy was always very involved with every church she attended.

Her passion for learning continued through her life, she learned to paint and won many ribbons. She learned to become an amazing cook and was recognized for her mac and chees soufflés, fondues’ and her homemade chicken and dumplings.

Betsy purchased wool fleece and then she would spin, weave, knit and or crochet something beautiful from the fleece. She was an avid horseman; she treasured the many hours she got to ride and care for them and was even a proud owner of horses.

She supported her children throughout their lives. She respected everyone, was always involved and she loved humanity. Betsy was brilliant, talented, loved music and astrology.

Betsy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, step-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law, Godmother and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George Gilbert and Rose Elizabeth Argent, husband Christopher J. Kelleher; sister Mary and husband John Burlison, brother Bob Argent, one niece Barbara and other family and friends.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her two children, S. Kim Smith of Cuba, Charles H. and wife Annette Smith of Webster Groves, Missouri; two grandchildren, Aaron and wife Jessica Smith of St. Louis, Rachel and husband Steve Triplett of St. Louis; two step grandchildren, Amy Rudd of Webster Groves, Missouri and Andrew and wife Raquel Rudd of Imperial, Missouri; five great grandchildren; Goddaughter and niece, Beverly Yates of DeSoto, Missouri; three nephews David, James and Randy; sister-in-law Marlene Argent of Florida and a host of other relatives and friends.

Keeping with Betsy’s wishes, she will be cremated, and a private family service will be held later.

The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Betsy’s family.
