Obituary

Lane Wes Bridgeman of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Donny and Vickie (Nee: Britton) Bridgeman. Lane left from this life, suddenly, early Sunday morning August 25, 2019, north of Cuba at the age of 14 years.

Lane was a triplet, born at thirty-three and half weeks. He was the smallest but that didn’t stop him. As with triplets, they would finish each other sentences and they always knew what the other was thinking.

Though he was only 14, Lane was a very talented young man. He took care of the cattle, pigs, fences, hay and other chores on the family farm. Lane was the proud co-owner of 5B Farms LLC. He bred and sold show pigs and he loved to show and travel with his stock.

He could cook, weld, hunt, fish and was a natural born mechanic. He enjoyed playing rummy, chess and shooting guns. He had a way with animals, especially his horse “Toby”, sow “Lavern” and dog “Little Bit”.

Lane always wanted to be busy and he would ask “what can I do now”. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, venturing through the woods, checking his game cam and Semis. He was a longtime member of the Forest Hill 4-H Club and he would help anyone who needed help, even if he didn’t know them. What Lane loved most in life was spending time on the farm and being with his family.

He was a loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, great nephew, great-great nephew, cousin, and friend. He will truly be missed by everyone who and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim Britton, John and Terri Bridgeman and other family and friends.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving parents Donny and Vickie Bridgeman of the home; one brother, Luke Bridgeman of the home; four sisters, Morgan Bridgeman of the home, Zannah and husband Ryan Johnson of Simi Valley, California, Bridget and husband David Charboneau of Simi Valley, California, Stacy and husband Josh Persky of Simi Valley, California; five nieces and nephews, Jeremy, Ariana, Jonathan, Layla and Grant; treasured grandma, Edwina Britton of Cuba; aunts and uncles, Ettie and husband Allan Branson of Cuba, Karen and husband Curtis Dunakey of Leasburg, James Britton of Cuba, Cindy Hice of New Port Richie, Florida; special cousin, Gary Britton of Cuba; best friends, Blaine Davis of Cuba, Eli and Evan Eaton of Cuba, Landon Davis of Rolla; sweetheart, Lena Stricklin of Rolla; neighbors and second set of parents, Bob and Vickie Patterson of Cuba; great aunts, great uncles, great-great aunts, great-great uncles, many cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 4:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the Living Word Church, 19 Steuber Road, Leasburg.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2019 at the Living Word Church, 19 Steuber Road, Leasburg with Pastor Alan Miles officiating. Special recorded music will be “Tears In Heaven”, “If We Never Meet Again This Side of Heaven”, “When I Get Where I’m Going” and “I’ll Leave This World Loving You”.

Honored to serve as casket bearers are Blaine Davis, James Britton, Kaleb Britton, Dalton Dunakey, Ryan Dunakey, David Charboneau, Curtis Dunakey, Allan Branson and Jake Jost.

Interment and prayers will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lane’s scholarship fund for 4-H/FFA would be greatly appreciated.

The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Bridgeman family.
